As the +Houston Rockets head overseas to the Philippines, they're using this time to bond and welcome new addition +Dwight Howard to the team. It's pretty cool for the +NBA to go to the Philippines considering the country is BASKETBALL CRAZY--it has its own league, with its own superstars and probably the strongest basketball fan base in all of Asia. Add the fact that Houston will definitely have a fan favorite in +Jeremy Lin, the first Asian American to ever play in the NBA and the one who virtually saved the league as he captured the hearts and mind of basketball fans which made them forget about the ugly lockout that occured before. What is surprising however is that the NBA chose the +Indiana Pacers to face the Rockets instead of the NBA Champion +Miami HEAT whose head coach, +Erik Spoelstra, not only happens to be Filipino, but also the first Asian American to coach an NBA team. Putting those teams together would have been a double whammy marketing wise. On a lesser note, I also grew up there too spending my teenage years there which make this even more special--GO ISM BEARCATS!!!!!!!
