+Cleveland Cavaliers Assistant GM David Griffin reacts to his team receiving the #1 pick at the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery in New York for the third time in four years. Seriously, either God must be shining a major blessing on the city of Cleveland or the team's owner Dan Gilbert signed a contract with the Devil because this is almost unheard of. This is probably the first time this has EVER happened in the NBA, but in the history of professional sports where a team gets blessed with the top overall pick in its respective draft so frequently. One thing is for certain--if all goes to plan and Cleveland picks Andrew Wiggins first overall, the team may have to change its name to the Canada Cavaliers since three of their last top five picks will hail from north of the border.
Hopefully, the Cavs will finally get it right and pull themselves into playoff contention next season, because there is only so much good fortune that a team can possess. Lets all cross our fingers and hope that next season will be the year that the Cavs finally pull them out of lottery limbo and finally become a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference.
